#771 – Big Brother…
Experiment #1:
I used a new pen for the lettering. It’s an .08 Micron. I have resisted using these pens before as I was always fearful that the .08 size was too thin and the letters might end up disappearing once I reduced them not only for the web but also any future books as well. But what do you all think? Are you able to read the lettering fine? If so, it might be because of…
Experiment #2:
I increased the size of the strip. All previous Capes & babes strips measured 858 x 350 pixels. For today’s strip, I increased the size to 900 x 368 pixels. If you like this size, let me know and I’ll make that the new Capes & Babes standard.
My latest commission:
Toy Story 3’s Hug-A-Lot as a Red Lantern
Reminder!
Next weekend, I will be in Allentown, PA attending the Allentown Two-Day Comic Con. If you are in the neighborhood, come on by and get a commission like the one above! I will also be doing caricature sketch cards of you as your favorite super hero, selling my Capes & Babes books and doing lots of other fun stuff! So check out their web site and plan on attending the event next weekend!
Hope to see you all there!
Chris, in response to your questions:
1) I think the fonts reduced just fine. I would try it for a week or so just to be on the safe side, possibly try it on some print reduction scales.
2) The larger size works really well so far. Hopefully it’ll be big enough to contain Roy’s schemes.
3) Love, love, love! the commision. Hug-A-Lot always struck me as a Red Lantern.
I switched to a 900 wide format a while ago, I like the bigger strip size. The lettering looks fine as well!
I like the new size of the strip. Looks good to me and the lettering is fine.
The new size looks good on both counts, Chris.
I’m not so sure that I see a measurable difference both on iPad and WIndows7 Chrome when I look at the previous compared to new size.
Do you need do change CSS? It looks crisp lettering. and all.
Never mind. I used Inspect Element in Chrome and the CSS thinks the two sizes are different. I simply think you could go farther. Just my two cents.
MORE Capes and Babes!
