Oh man, what a friggin’ hot weekend…

Anyway, hey everybody… just wanted to let you all know that yesterday, I played 14 innings of baseball in 100+ degree heat. Finally got home about 8:00pm last night, had some food, and promptly went to sleep. Therefore, no new Capes & Babes strip for today. Sorry, folks!

I’ll try to get something up later on today (Monday) or make up for the missing strip later on this week.

Recent Commissions & my son Tyler…

[UPDATE]
Since my server transfer (Dec. 2011), I’ve had a lot of problems with broken image links in a number of blogs. I was able to repair, fix or re-link most of those problems but this particular blog did not survive – except for my son’s YouTube video below. If you would like to see the commissions I did for Lee, they are in the photo section of my Facebook page. You can find them here inside my “Commissions” Photo album…

Here’s some recent commissions I just finished up for Lee “The BatFan” – click on any of the headshots to see a larger, full body version. The Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn pieces are really a single piece when put together. All the commissions were done on 9×12″ smooth bristol board, colored with Prismacolor and Dick Blick markers and inked with a variety of pens…

Also, I should mention, each 9×12″ full color commission is $40 (includes free shipping & handling) but remember – as always – the HUMOR is 100% FREE!!!

If you’re interested in having a commission done, you can contact me via e-mail at capesnbabes [at] gmail.com so you can tell me what character(s) you want and what kind of time frame you’re looking for…

[UPDATE] Here are two more I finished tonight – The black & white Penguin I think I’m going to digitally color and turn it into an exclusive poster for the Pittsburgh Comic Con…

A little video of my son as well…

Tonight my son participated in his school’s Scroll & Literature program where a bunch of kids read their stories and/or poems. Tyler read a poem about Winter and then read directions on how to make a delicious cup of Hot Chocolate. I still had have a battery charge in my pocket video recorder so I brought that along and recorded his

InterventionCon Panel schedule…

by Chris Flick on September 7, 2010 at 10:01

For all of you that are planning on attending InterventionCon this weekend (and if you aren’t, why not?), here is my Panel schedule for all of you that might be interested in hearing whatever crazy thing comes to my brain.

It all starts on Friday!

The Parent Trap – Friday 3:00pm,
Panel Room 1
A discussion about what it’s like to maintain a webcomic and raise kids at the same time.

Web Design for Creatives – Friday 4:00pm
Panel Room 1
A discussion about all things related to web design and the artist. I will probably bore people to death about my love of Dreamweaver & Fireworks – so be sure to attend!

Saturday will be my biggest day…

How to use Social Media without being a jerk – Saturday – 11:00am
Panel Room 1
A discussion about all things related to Social media – especially Twitter & Facebook

Digital vs. Traditional: The Pros & cons of each – Saturday, 12 Noon
Panel Room 1
A discussion about digital creation versus traditional creation and how the two are combined sometimes.

We’re asking questions here – Saturday, 8:00pm
Panel Room 2
A chance for the CREATORS to ask the FANS questions. This should be really interesting…

The Light Box Podcast panel – Saturday, 9:00pm
Panel Room 2
A panel discussion of everything about the Light Box Podcast that I do with Matt Stout every week (or almost every week).

Sunday (my lightest day)

Webcomic Improv – Sunday, 12:00 noon
Large Panel Room
Ever watch “Who’s line is it anyway”? Well, come to this panel and watch a bunch of webcomic creators think on their feet as they play a lot of similar games that have been featured on that show before.
