Close Call – #862…
I want to give some Twitter shout-outs to a bunch of people that offered suggestions for this particular strip…
You see, when I first started this strip, I had no idea WHAT kind of professional sport team the Red Furs were going to be. So, I made a Twitter call out and asked for some suggestions – and got a bunch of great ones. I asked for suggestion of what kind of sport would a werewolf play – fictional or real. here are the replies that I got:
- Tyler James: Basketball (because of the Teen Wolf connection)
- Brian Anderson: Bowling or Polo
- Papa Neslo: Wolf-leball or “Wuff”leball
- Lucas Turnbloom: Curling
- Dave Wilson: Howl-a-hoops and Tiddly-winks
All of these were great suggestions – particularly Lucas’ suggestion of Curling since I have already established the fact that Roy has a huge crush on Debbie McCormick – the USA Olympic Female Curler. Click the link to go to Debbie’s Wikipedia page.
All of these suggestions helped spark some other ideas and, ultimately, I decided to go with Roller Derby simply because I almost immediately came up with the last panel in my head as soon as I thought about it.
So, I want to thank all those Twitter friends above for throwing suggestions my way. Just remember though, just because your suggestion wasn’t used in THIS particular strip, doesn’t mean you won’t ever see
