And thus ends the Katsucon story arc.

As you’re reading this, it will be Friday the 18th but as I’m typing this, it’s still Thursday the 17th. To everyone almost everyone else in the world, you all know the 17th as St. Patrick’s Day. I did as well until 16 years ago.

That was the day my daughter was born.

So while it is still “technically” her birthday, I wanted to let you all know how great of a daughter she is. Although this ex-high school jock has to admit he’s just a little disappointed she hasn’t taken up a love of sports like her dad, that disappointment disappears completely whenever I see a new piece of art she has created or some new project she has poured herself into. All of the high school energy I put towards sports, she puts towards art so dad really can’t be too disappointed, now can he?

And her love of comics darn near rivals my own. In fact, this whole Katsucon story arc started when we both attended this year’s Katsucon convention. That’s the only thing I really miss since I started Capes & Babes… the chance to go to various conventions not to work, but to enjoy them with my daughter. But, we’ll always have Katsucon, right?

In any case, I just wanted to tell her I’m proud of her and love her very much. Teenager and all!

Happy birthday, Dani. I’m glad you had a great one.
