#911 – Protective Secrets…
So… what are YOUR theories on Agent Coulson from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Personally, I think Agent Ward will eventually become Taskmaster as depicted in Taskmaster’s second mini-series.
Oh sure, you may laugh right now but just you wait… you will ALL see and then you all will be… well, you won’t actually BE anything. But you’ll see…
😉
Wait- isn’t Taskmaster your favorite comic character or am I misremembering someone elsr…
And that’s actually a very good idea about him given his combat skils. I personally think that none of them are existing characters and that they will all eventually be killed in either the upcoming or the third Avengers movie 😀
Nope… you are remembering correctly. Taskmaster is my favorite villain – although, in recent years, it seems like there’s been a push from marvel to make him more of an “anti-hero” – which makes sense given that in his ORIGINAL origin, he actually wanted to BE a hero.
In his second mini-series, it’s determined that might be false memory and that he was an SHIELD agent that was obsessed with being THE BEST SHIELD agent. It gets a bit convoluted after that though. You really need to read the 2nd Taskmaster limited series to understand. 🙂
I’m just projecting a totally fan wish here. I don’t really believe it but again, if you read his second mini-series, I think you could say my fan wish is “plausible” but not very likely. 🙂
I have the notion that Coulson was in a coma for a very long time after the events in New York and that the Tahiti vision was imprinted on him to make his rehabilitation more bearable. I don’t believe him to be an LMD simply based on the concern the others actually had for him in the first episode, asking him if he thought he was ready. I just feel the extent of his damages were so severe and the trauma he experienced so intense that they hope he doesn’t remember in fear that he will shut down and lose his edge. Thus the reason Nick Fury actually came to visit him after the fuselage issue, just because his concern is still relevant as well. I feel they would be less concerned for him as an individual if he were an LMD, but that’s just my theory.
Given that they made an entire movie dedicated to Tony Stark’s struggles with NEARLY dying at the end of The Avengers, your theory is VERY plausible, Todd.
I really only started to question whether Coulson was an LMD after seeing the reaction from the guy who hit him in the face in the second episode. That’s a very similar reaction most humans get when they’ve hit Hugh Jackman/Wolverine in all the movies thus far, so I thought that was very, very odd/interesting…
You know, he DOES say “It’s a magical place” almost every time Tahiti is mentioned – almost like a hypnotic keyword, like you said. I’m going to have to keep a sharper look out for that in future episodes, for sure.
“Now tell us how to make hulk work in his own film!”
That’s easy. Put Loki in it.
😀
Dang it, you’re right!
