#901 – Going To The Show…
I’m a bad, bad dude.
I had every intention of doing something yesterday (Tuesday) but then I left work and various little “real life” distractions came about and before I knew it, I was sitting at my drawing table, creating today’s strip when I suddenly remembered the one thing I had wanted to do but completely forgot to do.
And that was to wish my mom and dad a Happy 47th Anniversary.
Looks like I’m gonna have to make an early morning call tomorrow morning.
In the mean time, I thought you all might get a kick out of something from my mom’s Facebook page… one of her many wedding pictures featuring my her mom and dad and my dad’s mom and, of course, my dad. Here it is, folks (click the picture for a larger view):
Mom and dad… sorry about not calling. By the time you read this, I will have already called you so Happy Belated 47th Anniversary!
Oh wait… there’s also this as well:
It’s amazing to realize that you never knew ‘these’ people, isn’t it?
You mean when all of them were so young – or younger – anyway? Yes… yes it is, Aithene / Chris Wilson. 🙂
A belated Happy Anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Flick. 🙂
Happy Anniversary you sexy sexy couple!
Aww…she looks beautiful and he looks dashing. The parents look like they aren’t too pleased, though 🙂 Congrats to them and hope many more decades together!
Actually, that was a typical “happy” look – at least for my grandfather, anyway. My grandfather could be a very stoic figure and was so until he had a stroke later on in his life. He wasn’t mean or cruel or anything. He just didn’t show a lot of emotions – at least not until he had a stroke later on in his life… then his personality completely flipped and he was a hoot to be around. 🙂
My dad’s mom was always a lot of fun (from what I remember). But my other grandmother was a lot more fun than this picture seems to imply. She was really the one who got me into drawing by pulling out her cherished Arby’s collector glasses with various Warner brother characters and had me try and draw them using her other very precious and cherished item – her blank typing paper. 🙂
I think that was mostly to keep me quiet and and out of her hair though. LOL!
Her Grandmother nickname was “Gee” and we had a lot of backyard adventures together when I was younger… we once caught a crow on their back patio one summer. not sure why but we didn’t keep it in the cage very long, that’s for sure. Just like the baby squirrel they both had for a VERY short time too. 🙂
You can never get the whole story from a picture, thank you for sharing the stories and context 🙂
Yup, that’s so true. A picture can say a thousand words but it hardly ever mentions “context”. 🙂
