#897 – Geek Proof…
No one should have to “prove” their fan “credentials”. If someone likes something… music, TV shows, movies, comic books or whatever… they shouldn’t have to prove or justify their like for something by someone else who deems them “unworthy” to like such a thing.
Marc knows this. Maybe that;s why I think he’s so mad at Roy in that last panel.
So, has anyone ever accused YOU of not being a TRUE fan of something? And if so, what was it?
Had this done with railfans, think Sheldon Cooper from “The Big Bang Theory” only without the physics knowlege…I took the unpopular route of asking “why” when the normal discussion about hated railroads came up and well, I have a name in their circles now that is slightly more despised than Benedict Arnold.
Huh… never knew people could be so… passionate about railroads. I thought Sheldon’s thing was just a fictional thing writers made up but I guess it’s not.
I am a casual railfan myself and once got an earful from someone when I couldn’t identify a particular locomotive once.
You Train Poser, you! LOL! 😉
Buying ANY merch for the kick-ass art is the most noble rationale of all!
I’m a huge Star Wars fan. (One of those) And one day I was at a dinner party and was introduced to a man who said he was a big Star Wars fan. So I asked him a “Difficult” Star Wars question. His girlfriend said to me… “Get him Bill!” And I replied… “Oh no, it’s not like that at all! I’m just thrilled to talk to another Star Wars fan!” 😀
