#839 – Risky Cause…
Today’s strip was entirely inspired by a Facebook – uh, Fangbook – wall post commentary started from Danielle Gransaull’s wall where she took up Marc’s point of view.
Hope you all get the inspiration for the last panel. If not, go see if NetFlix has Risky Business available and watch it. You’ll understand then.
Danielle, I hope you don’t mind being today’s inspiration.
🙂
I’m turning into a fan of saying “Holy Crow” lately. I’d like to say crap but I’m too refined. 🙂
I have always been a fan of the use of “Crackers” in The Norm by Jantze. And to control my most common swear while in the presence of my daughter (who is like a parrot now) I took up some inspiration from Elf and say, “Son of a nutcracker.”
Ha!, both my favorite swear alternatives involve crackers.
There is a trope called “Gosh Dang it to Heck” that deals with watered down bad language. The word “fudrucker” is one such word. This amuses me as Fudrucker’s is also the name of a burger joint.
How about “son of a bat”? My own is “ding-dong-dofus”.
But spelled “frack”, it’s a legitimate, yet contentious word.

True, I have heard of Fracking in terms of drilling but I don’t think anyone thinks of that when they watch an episode of Battlestar Gallactica though. 🙂
In my part of the world here on Earth, the frackers are the local equivalent of Cylons.
Bleep is my favorite swear word stand-in. “oh bleep.” “what the bleep”, etc.
