737 – Last Laugh…
Now, ordinarily, with a strip like this, some of my friends would have made appearances as crowd members in that first panel. But as it stands, everyone in this strip is a purely made up character.
You may be asking yourself “why”?
Well, the answer would be simple, my friends. Because I know MY friends would NEVER laugh at Roy just because he wants to camp out for Avenger movie tickets. Right, gang?
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight???
BLOG POST UPDATE:
Hey folks, as I was posting the link to today’s strip on Facebook, my good friend, Jim Edwards messaged me and told me I had some new e-mail I might want to check out. So I immediately went to my e-mail account and saw this:
This is the “Mork meets Adam West’s Batman” commission I did for Jim about a month or so ago. I thought the framing looks awesome!
Jim sent me some other pictures of his Batman collection where this guy is proudly displayed but once I saw this, I knew I had to update the blog and share it with you all.
Um…..right!

LOL! Little John… one of these days, I have to send you a clip of your Capes & Babes character so you can use it as your own personal Gravatar! 😉
Sounds like a plan!
In this strip, you did the opposite of a spot color on Roy. I get the impression you did that for a reason but I can’t figure out what that reason is.
Rainey, it was mostly because I filled Roy in with grayscale first and THEN colored the rest of the strip. When I realized what I had done, I thought about going in and adding color to Roy but then thought the strip kind of had a “Broadway Danny Rose” type of feel so I decided to keep Roy grey while everything else is in color.
Just one of those weird artistic choices, my friend. 🙂
I had taken away that the reason he was in “black and white” was that he was living in the “past” waiting in line, when everyone around him knew about the modern day method of being able to buy tickets online.
Everyone reads it differently, but sometimes an uncolored object in a frame is just that… uncolored.
Oooooh… I LIKE that explanation, Papa. Okay folks, THAT’S the official reason why Roy is in black & white in today’s strip.
Alright Wolfpack, let’s all gather around Papa and give ’em a big, hearty AWWWWOOOOOOO!!!
🙂
I would do this if I can afford more than two tickets. 🙁
