724 – Perfect Date…
Boy, this storyline has been THE longest one I have ever done since I started doing webcomics – and that includes the five years CMX Suite cartoons I did for CommunityMX.
If any of you are getting tired of me poking a little fun at Alex O’Loughlin and one of his alter egos, Mick St. John, I apologize. I keep thinking of ways to end this story arc but every time I do, I also think of even crazier ideas to keep it going. I am eventually going to end it soon.
Trust me.
In other news, I wanted to let everyone know that this month – April – is Autism Awareness Month.
I won’t go in to any long speeches about autism or anything like that. Many of you all know my 12 year old son is autistic. I just wanted to go ahead and pass along the message.
Thanks everyone!
I was diagnosised with Asperger’s Syndrome which is a form of Autism in July 2006. As a female, I am the 1% of people who have it as the other 99% are male. I grew up with it. I went to a regular elementary and high school. I also attended college getting an IT Diploma. I am also on Disability which helps with daily expenses.
Teresa, thanks so much for sharing. Many people don’t know that males are much more likely to be diagnosed with autism than females. I have also heard one reason that might be is that the symptoms are much more obvious with young boys than with young girls. I have no idea if that is true or not – you might be able to say if this is really so or not way more than I can.
Again, thanks for sharing your story with us.
AWW, you are welcome, Chris. Growing up, I did have an idea that something was not right with me due to having at times trouble speaking or walking, but it was not constant or extreme.
The symptoms of Autism are more obvious in boys than in girls. My theory on this is the Double X that females have that can compensate for the problems just like color blindness. A female has to get both genes for color blindness from both parents. This is just my theory.
I am glad that my story will help you and hopefully spread the word.
