554 – Heroes Commisions: Jason Wright
Folks, I’m on the way out the door to take my daughter to go see X-Men but when I come back, I’ll write a much more detailed post about Heroes Con. Suffice to say (for now), Heroes Con was a resounding success. I had a blast. I feel re-charged and re-energized even despite pulling in to the house after 12 midnight last night. Good thing I took the day off today, huh?
Anyway, for now, enjoy today’s first Heroes Con Commission art I did over the weekend. Today’s art features Jason Wright and his wife, Hilary who I seemed to hang out with for most of the con weekend. Where ever I went, there they were. Or, where ever I was going to go, they were already there. Had a blast with them so Jason wanted me to do a commission for his theme sketch book – only it’s a little bit different than most. Instead of having various artists draw his favorite character in their own unique style, he asks them to draw HIM as THEIR favorite character – or one on his list. I always dug Iron Fist’s costume so when I saw it on his list, I drew a caricature of him (which he graciously sat down and posed for me) wearing the Iron Fist outfit. I was originally going to just do a simple greyscale marker rendering but after I got down with the inks, I decided to throw in at least some simple colors on his illustration.
So, there it is!
Again, more heroes Con 2011 coming soon…
