So today (Sunday), I attended a CAPICON SHOW as one of three artists. It wasn’t a bad little show – especially considering that:
1) There was very little advertising for the show (except for small flyers at local comic book shops)
2) It’s a one day show – but really, it was only a five hour show since we had to clear out of the Fire Department Bingo room before 4:00pm.
3) I personally hadn’t advertised that I was going to be at the show since it was really a last minute decision – and by “last minute”, I REALLY mean “last minute”.

In fact, it was SO last minute, I didn’t even think I’d be able to get a table since I didn’t contact the show organizers until Tuesday night.

But since I did so well a couple weeks ago in Richmond, VA at the VA Comic Con, I decided to go ahead and splurge for a table and test the show to see how it was.

After talking to the organizers after the show, they wanted me to know that they would like to get more local small press and webcomic creators involved in their shows and are willing to cut all of us a special “artist’s price” for table space. The tables are a little bit longer than the usual 6 feet tables. In fact, they are more typical of high school cafeteria tables which are, roughly, another foot or so wider.

So, if you’re local on the Northern Virginia area, and are interested in having a table, you can contact me here at capesnbabes [at] gmail.com and I’ll relay the message to the CAPICON guys.

The next show is scheduled for February 2, 2010.
