Ahhhhhh… well, the holidays are over (unless, of course, you consider New Year’s the FINAL holiday celebration). But you know, one of the toughest things – at least mentally – is trying to throw yourself back into the “daily work routine” after a long layoff or an extended vacation/holiday.

I had a great Christmas vacation myself. I didn’t get quite as many strips done as I would have liked but the break was much needed. On Saturday night, my daughter and I went to go see “The Spirit”. Personally, I liked it. It wasn’t “the greatest movie ever”, but for a popcorn, superhero flick, it wasn’t half bad. Saw 3/4’s of the Wolverine preview too (we got our seats just as the Wolverine preview was starting) and it looked great – especially the tail end of the previews where Wolverine uses his claws as motorcycle breaks and then leaping towards the oncoming helicopter. You can easily tell why Hugh Jackman likes Wolverine so much. Should be a lot of fun come May.

On another Christmas side note, I got a Creative Vado pocket video camera for Christmas. In fact, I filmed myself drawing the December 26th strip but I’m having some trouble getting the video to play back on my Mac G4 iBook with the AIFF format. On my iBook, the video stops and sputters in Quicktime but has audio. Using other video players – specifically VLC Media player – the video plays great but has no sound.

If anyone has any Mac experience using the Creative Vado, I’d love to hear your tips and suggestions. One reason why I wanted the pocket video camera was so I could upload more videos of me drawing the strip to YouTube and other places. Thanks!
