#989 – First 4th of July…
Since I have been really bad at maintaining a consistent update schedule as of late, I decided to do something for you guys and post Friday’s strip a evening earlier… so if many of you in the U.S. are planning on getting an early start by spending the day at a bar-b-que and fireworks, you can still read the strip before you go out to enjoy the country’s celebration.
I know I will be spending most of the day and evening over at some family friends’ house and really looking forward to simply chilling out and not doing a whole lot (except maybe playing a while lot of Bocce Ball).
This is a VERY MUCH needed break considering ALL of the shows I have been doing this year – which is a direct contributor for why my update schedule has been all over the board… well, conventions and coaching 13 year old baseball… both of those things are exactly why my update schedule has been so crazy. Then you add in the large number of commissions I have recently received… all of that stuff makes for a very bad update schedule. Unfortunately, it might not get a whole lot better as next week, I will be in Allentown, PA for the Greater Allentown Comic Con. We’ll have to wait and see if I have any commissions lined up for that show.
All of this work, though, is a great problem to have as I remember a time when I didn’t have ANY thing to do artistically. I only wish I could somehow find a couple of extra hours in a day or weekend so I can finish all the stuff I need to finish.
Cry me a river, huh? Yeah, I know…
In any case, for all you Fourth of July Fireworks people out there, you all be safe tomorrow and please, whatever you do, don’t drink and drive. And, if you must drive, whatever you do, don’t set off any fireworks inside your car. That would be bad.
Very, very bad.
