718 – Caged Animal…
Some of you may realize that this Wednesday will be my birthday. Usually, my wife and I make a birthday date and go out to Joe’s Crab Shack and have ourselves a little crab fest. Sometimes, we do it on my birthday but many times, we wait until the weekend after my birthday as that is the most opportune time to find someone to watch Tyler for us.
Well, that couldn’t happen this year because next week, I will be at the Two Day Annapolis Comic-Con! So, instead, we decided to have the Joe’s Crab Shack dinner date a weekend early and, because of that, a few of our friends were able to join us – Rick, John, Bob and his wife Theresa. Oh, and there was Dani and Tyler too!
Many of you already know Tyler is autistic and one of the things we have been trying to do with him is introduce new environments and experiences for him. This was one of those times. We weren’t sure how the evening was going to go – you never can when it comes to autism – but, surprisingly, it went fairly well. The evening wasn’t without its hiccups but, for the most part, it went very well and it was so great to have a dinner experience with a bunch of friends. I’ll post the couple of pictures I took probably tomorrow once I download them from my camera.
But I just wanted to take a moment to thank Rick, John, Bob, Theresa, Dani, Tyler and my wife for making tonight a really enjoyable and fun night.
And, if you all come out to the Annapolis Two Day Con this weekend and wish me a happy birthday, I just might give you something for free. How ’bout that?
