So… now you all know who that dude was that offered Roy a beer. The bandanna and goatee was the clue – I didn’t want to make it too obvious but also drawing Brett’s signature cowboy hat. 😉
Now for an update:
Looks like whatever was in my system last week is finally gone. Antibiotics can be a really good thing because the over the counter stuff just wasn’t working. Feeling much, much better now and all set to hit the road on Thursday with Bill McKay as we head to Charlotte, NC for a return visit to Heroes Con. Here is where you’ll be able to find me:
I’m not going to mention too much about the Orlando tragedy. I have been doing that on Facebook, but I will say these few things:
Back in 1980, I used to live in Orlando. Lived there for six months. That’s really the only connection I have with the tragedy except for the fact that I also have a lot of friends either in or associated with the LGBT community so of course I sympathize and feel bad when I read all of their Facebook posts.
As far as the whole political angle goes, I know a lot of people will probably disagree with me about this but let me make it clear – I’m not an advocate of “gun control”. I still believe people have that right. What I am FOR, though, is gun limitations.
I do not – and can not – understand how we can make laws against being able to hunt wild animals with the same military assault rifles that have continued to be used in these mass shootings yet it seems perfectly fine to keep them on the market in order to hunt and kill humans. Maybe that’s a strong statement to make but isn’t that EXACTLY what assault rifles are designed for? To kill humans? Why can’t we outlaw at least THOSE types of weapons to the general public?
I fully understand that the Orlando shooter – because of his security job – probably would have been able to get ahold of these weapons regardless of any laws that night have been in place but what about all the OTHER shootings where the perps didn’t have a security job and were basically joe average citizen?
Anyway, those are just a few thoughts on the matter.
