690 – Offended…
A reminder that this Sunday, I will be at the VA Comic Con in Richmond, Virginia. Click the link below to go to their site and learn all about the event, get directions, find out who is attending and all that other good stuff:
Okay, now a little credit for today’s strip… my co-worker, Jesse gave me the idea for today’s strip. Maybe not the exact idea but he at least planted the seed that got my brain cooking with possibilities. Jesse’s original thought (half jokingly, I think) was that there might be some comic book/pizza delivery people out there that might be offended by my strip on Wednesday.
But, as I explained to him, since I was, at one time, a pizza delivery guy AND an aspiring comic book artist, I am immune to people being offended by the subject matter of Wednesday’s strip.
I know Roy was a delivery driver in October 2008, but I’m not sure about the second one. Was it [XXXXXXXXX]?
An Editorial Note from Chris:
I X’ed out the second guess because Papa Neslo was correct with that second guess – but I didn’t want to spoil it for everybody else – at least not just yet. I want to give everyone else a chance to see if THEY can figure out who the second Pizza Shaq delivery guy is. Good work, Papa Neslo!
Loved it! So is there really a lead driver position at pizza places?
Jesse: Nope, not at all. When I was delivering though, you could get incentives for various things like Safe Driving Hours, Most Deliveries… things like that. Pizza Hut would give new name badges with those awards to their drivers. But… that was a LOOOOOONG time ago. 🙂
Jesse, what’s really amusing is that he’s been there eight years and is only now ‘up for lead driver’.
When one is ranting, one must make sure the rant is correct. This has been The Art of Ranting.
I have seen both Roy and Al the alien delivering pizzas. As for exactly who they were delivering for, I don’t know.
So a big congratulations go out to PAPA NESLO and RAINEY for correctly guessing AL THE ALIEN was the OTHER Capes & Babes character that has worked as a Pizza Shaq delivery person.
The clue I mentioned was on the cover of the back of my first book. I also included an illustration of Al as a Pizza Shaq delivery person as interior filler content for both books as well.
Good job, Papa Neslo and Rainey!!!
